Charitable contributions by Roebuck Photography

Ive always enjoyed being a part of my local community's, I enjoy doing volunteer work and putting in my time and efforts to projects within the community. Most of my charitable contributions these days manifest through how I can use my photography and influence to give people meaningful images. Whether its is capturing the elders portraits during lockdown, Photographing sports such as ice hockey or Martial arts, Capturing fundraiser and charity events such as for the Samaritans or SIDS awareness.

I will always try to make time to do work for charity. I would like to use my photography to make a positive difference to someones day. I would like my charitable efforts to have a lasting effect for those I choose to help. I think everyone should aim to do charitable work or give back to their local communities in what ever capacity that they can manage.

I as Roebuck Photography would like to contuine my charitable contributions. In order to do this I will give away two or three Photography slots a year to charity. If you work for a charity or think that a organisation could benefit from a photographer please do get in touch. Please use my contact page and use the phrase “Charitable contributions” As the subject when you write to me.

Lockdown portraiture for the elderly.

I took these photos during the second lockdown in the UK. When I am not a photographer I work as a care assistant. 2020 was the year I was really aiming for my Photography business to take off. Unfortunately due the global pandemic that is Covid-19 I was unable to take the leap of faith into becoming a full time photographer. I have always wanted to capture the generation that lived through the Second World War. So during the lockdown at work I asked for permission from the home manager to photograph the residents. I wanted to capture the residents portraiture during the Christmas holiday as a gift to the residents and to create everlasting memories for the families. Ive used black and white images as I feel like that fits the ascetics of my website better. I initially captured the residents in colour

Samaritans Christmas carol fund raising concert

During the Christmas holidays of 2016 I offered to photograph and document the samaritans Christmas carol in Basingstoke. Every-year the Basingstoke Samaritans host a Christmas carol concert in order raise money for the charity. At the time I was a listening volunteer for the charity, volunteering for this charity was something I absolutely loved to do. What the charity do is so important and so meaningful to those who really need help and emotionally support. the charity saves lives and really can make a difference for people who reach out

Ice hockey

For the last year or so I have been donating my photographic services to the Basingstoke bison and the Bracknell devils. I photograph matches at the Planet Ice rink in Basingstoke. Ive done all of my Ice hockey work as a volunteer as I enjoy watching the bison as they are a very strong team and I wanted to use the opportunity to learn how to become a skilled photographer within fast paced sports, by not only capturing the action but also telling the story through the narrative building images. I would like to think that my images will bring more attention to UK Ice hockey as it is a undervalued sport here and I personally believe that everyone should watch a match.
